In a surprising collaboration that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Disclosed

According to the formal statement, "An unusual encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The plot features a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a secret group.

The adventure concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Transformations

The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an unique katana alongside several items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Third Free Story Update

This update also adds the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
