"Our focus will be on the Maga phenomenon and observe how it can be accomplished in Britain," Truss declared. "We will interview the leading lights of the Maga movement."

Building Connections in the Maga-Verse

Key fixations encompass accusations of information control by the established press and a desire to eradicate a shadowy government apparatus – a force that Truss blames for the abrupt termination of her calamitous premiership.

"Solomon's outlet is not widely recognized past the pro-Trump media sphere, but it does have gravitas there, primarily thanks to Solomon, who offers opinions on conservative outlets like Steve Bannon's War Room and has even questioned Trump," noted Professor Alex Hinton, who has extensively researched the Maga movement.

A Contentious Ally

Her effort to bring Maga media to Britain has aligned her more closely to controversial figures such as the journalist.

He established Just the News in the wake of backlash after he was accused of pushing misleading narratives about Joe Biden's anticorruption effort in Ukraine, as well as controversial stories about ex-ambassador to the region.

Solomon's reporting were repeated across the pro-Trump outlets, with he featuring as a regular guest on the widely-watched Fox News program. The former president personally endorsed his stories.

The journalist published the Ukraine claims in a series of columns for the political newspaper The Hill, where he had already been moved to a columnist role following internal criticism over his articles. Weeks after he exited the newspaper in autumn 2019, the outlet revealed it was conducting a review of his work relating to Ukrainian matters. It concluded he had relied on unreliable sources and said he "did not disclose key facts about main Ukrainian informants, including the reality that they had been indicted or were under investigation."

Entering the Ecosystem

The journalist's personal broadcast spots are a sign of the right-wing media network the former prime minister is joining. He discussed his endorsement of her new show on a show he co-hosts on the conservative cable network, a conservative television outlet that is the base for the Maga influencer former adviser Steve Bannon and on which Tucker Carlson also features. She has already spoken with the political operative on a debut installment.

By partnering with this media figure, Truss has become a small part in a extensive web of conservative media outlets that routinely amplify each other's content.

Solomon's own programs have repeatedly hosted personalities such as influencer Mike Benz, a political voice whose criticism of the US Agency for International Development was cited by Elon Musk as grounds for dismantling the foreign aid agency.

An International Strategy

Although the former PM's unnatural presentation and political travails have been mocked in Britain, some US observers are taking seriously her efforts to revamp her image as a local version of the pro-Trump media ecosystem.

"One must regard individuals such as her seriously, even if you may not want to accept their words at face value," said a Democratic strategist, who was employed in the Obama White House.

"You saw how in 2024 Donald Trump leveraged that ecosystem to disseminate his views. Undoubtedly that ecosystem transmits and affects conversation overseas. It seems quite apparent to me that the conditions in the UK are akin to what enabled this non-mainstream media network to flourish here."

Professor Alan Finlayson, said the online conservative ecosystem was already exerting influence in the UK.

"Online platforms transcends national boundaries," he stated. "There's a kind environment within which stuff flows – sometimes taking an extreme form and occasionally in softer tones – but which is connected."

Hinton said the growth of the digital conservative movement in the UK in recent times meant the "possibility to have a growing impact is considerable."
